“Quilting as a Design Element”
This class complements the “Quilting as a Design Element” Lecture. Students bring quilt tops or patterns and we discuss design options to suit the use, style, and design of the quilt. This is a great guild activity and will help all levels of quilters including hand quilters. This is a design class and no sewing machines are required. The more quilts students bring in, the more samples we will have to talk about quilting!
Trunk Show/Lecture: Come see my roots!!!! (no, not my hair 🙂 The metamorphosis of an Art Quilter! Travel with me from the beginnings of my artistic awareness, through art, craft, clothing, wedding dresses to my complete immersion into the world of Fiber Art Quilting. Gobs of “live” quilts for up close hands on enjoyment.
Scraps & Shirttails!
A note from Bonnie Hunter…
This lecture focuses on the quilts from my books Scraps & Shirttails I & II, both released by Kansas City Star Quilts. Not only do I show the quilts from the book, but others I’ve made with recycled fabrics and scraps as well! I include information about what to look for when recycling clothing into quilts, the best way to slice and dice your cotton clothing into usable sizes so it is ready for your quilt making, combining recycled fabrics with new yardage for the right look, etc.
Don’t forget! Please bring your entry to the September meeting (9/15/16) where we will vote for our favorites, and the top three will win a prize!
